The Reggae dancehall artist known in the music circles as Don Tarz , has advised malawian artists to embrace the culture of perfecting lyrics.
Speaking in Lilongwe on Friday in an interview , Don Tarz said, many artists elicit no response from the audience on stage, because lyrics were half baked.
” Many artists are too hasty. They go to studio without preparing lyrics. As a result, they end up producing a half baked song. Yes it’s possible! just to go to studio with empty hands. However, it only work for people who have active brains.
Don Tarz,real name, Pililani Francis Nyanja, has ,therefore, tipped artists on how to polish up lyrics.
“Write down lyrics. Go through them several times. Ask yourself how fans Will react to the lyrics line by line”, said .
He defended himself saying, he run the shows, because he take time in structuring lyrics.
” What I do on stage can’t be exciting if I don’t wallow my time in perfecting lyrics,”he said .
He boasted : ” I have lyrics that make those who styles themselves as stars to be nobody in my presence”.
