
Onesimus left — Elli Njuchi right
Afro pop superstar Onesimus has recently shown his support to who is supposedly the next Malawian reggae dancehall superstar Elli Njuchi after putting out a tweet asking BBC Radio 1 extra DJ, DJ Edu to check out for what he (Onesimus) calls “future for Malawi” referring to Elli Njuchi.
In his tweet Onesimus described Elli as the the future from Malawi, some twitter users also said, the kid has to be given a chance because he deserves it.
DJ Edu is a Kenyan radio personality based in the UK, he is the
BBC Radio 1 and BBC 1xtra’s first and still only anchor for the African mix show DNA (Destination Africa), he is solely responsible for the inception and growth of an audience that has increased over the last 7 years.

Via this platform Edu has been able to break some of the biggest names on the global African music scene in the UK – artists such as K’Naan and Nneka both of whom went on to win the coveted MOBO(Music of Black Origin) Award. Akon, D’banj, Casttro,Atumpan, Kaz, Dr Sid,Ahmed Soultan, Kas,Hip Hop Pantsula, J Martins,Wande Coal,Zaki Ibrahim, M.I, P Unit, Jesse Jagz, Brymo, Ice Prince, Guru, Tiffany Asa, Nalu, Exile,2face, Amani, Cynthia Mare, Kleptomaniax, Ulopa, Stella Mwangi,Darey Wyre, M3nsa, Wanlov The Kubolor, Winky D, Bkay & Kazz are a few other names from an impressive, long list known to have guested on DNA.

He is also continuing a 10-year stint as a promoter and is currently working on an African TV show to air in the UK & Europe as well as a Video Mix for Channel O in Africa.
This possibility can be a greatest opportunity for Elli if it Materializes. Onesimus has also once guested Edu’s show on BBC 1 extra and it has really contributed positively to his career as a singer. Interestingly he wishes the same for Elli Njuchi. Onesimus further added that “I would wish to see Elli Clocking AFRIMA AWARDS best new comer category”.
