Malawian top singer and the guy who even graced big stage as far as music in the country is concerned Faith Mussa has told fans that he is ready and steady with his single “Ogode”. Slatted for 18 January 2021. And he has also emphasized that the single will drop on Zonse live.
Talking about the single Faith said “Ogode is a song about friendship, “I literally dreamt about this song melody while touring China in 2015 with a group of friends from Mafirika band (Enerst Ikwanga, Sam Njuri Mkandawire, Chambota Chirwa, Amos Mlolowa and Charlie Maere who organized the tour”.
Faith further said that “I kept the song for so many years not finding good space to release it. Finally I played it to pianist and producer Gresham Mokwena. Who agreed to produce it. On top of producing the track I featured Gresham who laid one of the most amazing piano pieces, I have ever heard from him. It was so exciting to see the song come to life. From this we produced a piano and acoustic guitar version. And never released it yet”. Faith continued with his explanation.
Despite giving out all the details his story was not yet done Mussa explained more on the details which lead ” After listening continuously. I decided to add a few more elements to the song and make it an early remix.
I called a friend of mine Elvie Ndjeka, an amazing bass guitarist from Zambia who agreed to play bass on the track. I later on called another long Time friend from South Africa Amos Mlolowa. One of the best drummers I’ve met in Malawi. He laid beutiful drums on it.
“Gresham, Elvie and Amosi did justice to the song. And finally I sent the song to Leo in London. On one of the UK tours I crossed path with an amazing music maker and guitarist Leo appleyard urchinmusic. A man of gifted hands and great ideas. He mixed the track and gave us what we call now Ogode.
Ogode will be part of the new project coming out this year. Stay blessed” he concluded.
